Overview
m1llionfotos is a photography portfolio website by photographer Milli, featuring works centered around everyday observation. Through a gentle yet distant perspective, the project captures light, atmosphere, and fleeting emotions found in daily life.
Design Concept
The homepage uses each photobook cover as the main visual background, allowing users to switch between different series through scrolling. An information card positioned at the bottom left displays the photobook title alongside preview images from the series, helping users quickly sense the atmosphere of each collection. By clicking the “＋” button, users can expand the full photobook list and freely choose which works to explore.
The Works page is inspired by a camera viewfinder, simulating the way a photographer observes the world. This allows users to browse all photobooks through a perspective that resembles a “photographer’s eye.”
Inside each photobook, the layout draws inspiration from physical photography books. Through the use of whitespace, page rhythm, and image sequencing, the experience recreates the feeling of flipping through a real photobook — transforming the act of viewing images into a more immersive reading experience.
